Het Kolibrie Effect
Volgens een Tupi-Guarani legende er was eens een grote brand in het bos. Alle dieren renden weg op zoek naar een veilig plekje. De kolibrie, echter, bleef heen en weer vliegen over het brandende bos.
Kolibrie, wat doe je? – vroegen de dieren bezorgt.
- Ik haal water bij de rivier om de brand te blussen!
Alle dieren verklaarden de Kolibrie voor gek.
- Maar jij bent te klein, het gaat nooit lukken! Geef het op, het lukt je toch niet...
- Dat is waar – zei de kolibrie - maar ik moet proberen, dit is alles wat ik kan doen. Ik doe gewoon mijn deel...
Als iedereen zijn deel bijdraagt, wordt de wereld vanzelf beter.

The Hummingbird Effect
According to the Tupi-Guarani legend once upon a time there was a big fire in the forest. All the animals ran away to a safer place. The hummingbird, though, kept flying over the flaming forest back and forward.
What are you doing hummingbird? Asked the animal’s concerned.
- I am bringing water from the river to extinguish the fire!
But that is a crazy thing to do – thought the animals.
- You are too small... it will never work! Give it up...
- That is true – said de hummingbird – but I have to try for this is the only thing I can do. I am just doing my share...
If everybody would take their responsebility, the world would be a better place to live. The Hummingbird Effect is an initiative of Barce Foundation.
O Efeito Colibri
Diz a lenda Tupi-Guarani que um dia a floresta estava em chamas. Todos os animais fugiam do fogo. Mas o colibri ia e voltava sobrevoando a mata em chamas.
Colibri, o que está fazendo? – perguntavam os animais preocupados.
- Busco água no rio para apagar o fogo!
Foi visto como louco pelos animais.
- Mas você é muito pequeno, não vai nunca apagar o fogo! Desista!
- É verdade – disse o colibri – mas eu tenho que tentar, isso é a única coisa que posso fazer. Estou só fazendo a minha parte...
Se todos fizessem sua parte, o mundo seria um lugar melhor. O Effeito Colibri é uma iniciativa da Barce Foundation.
